Start with the Ready to practice? check before opening a new call. It tests your input and speaker separately so you can identify which side is failing.

Lira cannot access your microphone

  1. Use Enable microphone and allow the browser's permission request.
  2. If access was blocked earlier, open the browser's site settings for Lira and allow microphone access.
  3. Check your operating system's microphone permissions for that browser.
  4. Return to Lira and try the microphone check again.

If the browser says microphone access is unavailable, open Lira in a browser with microphone support over a secure connection. Managed devices may require your IT team's help to enable access.

The wrong microphone is selected

Choose the intended input in the microphone selector. Speak and watch for an input response. Check any physical mute switch and the operating system's input level.

If a device disconnects, reconnect it and run the check again. A Bluetooth headset may appear as a different input after reconnecting.

Your microphone is busy

Close other calling or recording applications that may be holding the device, then try again. If needed, disconnect and reconnect the microphone before returning to the check.

You cannot hear the test or counterpart

Use Test speaker. Check system volume, the selected output device, browser tab mute, and headset connections. During a call, use any audio-enable action shown if the browser has blocked playback.

For echo or feedback, use headphones and move the microphone away from the speakers. Avoid having the same conversation open with audio on more than one device.

If audio worked and then stopped, check the connection state. If the problem persists, contact help@thoughtly.com with the browser and device you are using and the error text. Do not send passwords or permission tokens.
