Add and manage knowledge sources
Ground scenarios in approved website pages, documents, and product information.
On this page
Knowledge sources give scenario authors product and company information to work from. Add material you have permission to use, and select only the sources relevant to the conversation.
Choose the right scope
- Shared knowledge in Company settings is managed by workspace admins and can support workspace scenarios.
- Scenario sources belong to the scenario you are editing, within your authoring permissions.
- Private prep sources belong to the owner's meeting prep. They do not become shared workspace knowledge.
Adding a document to one scope does not make it available everywhere else.
Add website pages
Choose Add website, enter a complete https:// website address, and select Find pages. Review the returned pages, select the relevant ones, and add them for processing. Scenario and prep discovery lets you select up to 25 pages at a time.
If discovery fails, check the address and try a directly accessible page. Content behind a login or otherwise inaccessible to Lira may need to be provided as an approved document instead.
Upload files
Choose Upload files, then select PDF, DOCX, or TXT files, up to 10 MB per file and 10 files at a time. Prefer focused, current documents over a large set of duplicated or contradictory material.
Word documents also have extraction limits to keep imports reliable. If a DOCX cannot be safely read, split it into smaller documents or export the relevant content as PDF or TXT, then upload it again.
Wait until the source is Ready before relying on it. Processing and failed states are shown alongside each source. For a failed source, review the error and use the retry action when offered; for a partially successful batch, check the list before uploading everything again.
Paste approved text
Choose Paste text, give the source a name, and paste the product information. Select Add text source to attach it. Each text source can contain up to 60,000 characters.
When you add the first source to a new scenario, Lira saves the draft as part of that action. If saving fails, the source is not added; fix the save issue and retry.
Generate a product brief
With ready sources selected, open Product brief and choose Generate product brief. Lira combines the selected material with your scenario context. When a public product can be identified and web research is configured, it also checks public pages through Firecrawl. The finished brief includes links to that research for you to review.
You can change pages or close the editor while it works. AI activity in the workspace header shows progress and returns you to the brief. Review and save the generated text, then choose Apply to product context if you want to use it in the scenario. Generating a brief does not publish the scenario or change its scoring rubric. If you change the saved scenario while generation is running, Lira will ask you to generate again instead of applying outdated content.
Review before publishing
Select the intended sources in the scenario setup. Check generated content against the original material, especially product claims, pricing, and qualification requirements.
Published versions preserve the selected source content used for that version. Updating a source does not silently rewrite the standard for an existing assignment or attempt; review and save the scenario's new version when the training needs to change.
Removing a source requires care. Review the confirmation and any stated impact before proceeding. Keep the scenario's product context understandable even if you later replace supporting material.
